Forces of Nature

Once again I've been made
aware of the powerful
forces of nature.

My heart goes out to all those who have met
hurricane Irene face to face.

Today, on my Inspirations blog,
I have shared with you
some of my fears.

Wednesdays Bunny Hop Party #5

Yes, it's time to do the Bunny Hop!

Last week must have been a busy week for you.
There were only 30 Hopping Bunnies...
But we all had fun!

This party is a showcase for "newish" bloggers who
have 500 folowers or less. It is a fun way for new
bloggers to find other new bloggers.

The three most viewed post were:

Simple Summer Bedroom @ Always Nesting

1929 Beautiful Arches @ Lavender Tub

Goodwill Hunting @ Vintage Shabby Chicks

My pick of the week was:

Here is a button to take home if you were featured.

Thanks to all that participated.
I visited all of your blogs...
and left a comment.
(for those who added linkbacks)

Please be considerate
and link back to this party.

This linkback is standard for all parties.
It may be in the form of a picture with a link,
or just a word link. I'm easy that way.

It can even be on your sidebar.
After all it is rather cute.
At least I think so ;)

The Bunny Hop code is on the sidebar,
and the instructions on "how to"
is in my "pages" up top.

Please try to visit as many other participants
as possible, and leave a comment.
That is what the party is for.

Even I like a comment or thank you :]

XOXO

Wednesday's Bunny Hop Party #4

Why do YOU blog?

To me blogging is a journey,
not a destination...

Enjoy the scenes along the way.

Have you ever been in a hurry?
Clicking from one blog to another
without feeling any real connection?

I think we all have at times.
I find that when it happens to me
that blogging becomes less enjoyable.

So I remind myself to...

Take time to enjoy blogging, and not to be
in such a hurry to get to the end of the road.

Slow down and enjoy the blogging!

Going to a party should not be a
chore that you feel rushed to get through.
It should be enjoyed... so have fun!
.
.
.

I just want to thank all of you for coming
to my Wednesday's Bunny Hop Party.
Whether you link up or just visit!

xoxo

Would you be so sweet as to share
your thoughts on the following five questions?

What is your reason for blogging?
Do you take time to really enjoy it?
Do you actually read a post, or just scan?
Do you make a connection with other bloggers?

Do YOU leave comments?

Thank you :)
~ ~ ~

Please take time to review the party guidelines.

I'm Still The Same Ole Me

Yep... that's me.
Yep... I'm getting old.
Yep... I've always been lazy.

What?

Photobucket

I tend to be just a little bit lazy...
Sometimes I get in a rut.
Ever happen to you?

You know...

Going through life running on automatic.
Just following the same old routine.
Taking the easy was out.

Same quick and easy meals.
Same familiar TV shows.
Same "old" friends.

Please tell me I am not the only one
who falls into this comfort zone
of "same ole, same ole".

BUT...
Sometimes the SAME OLE thing can be
a good thing, especially when it
applies to lasting love!

We meet on a blind date!

Wednesday's Bunny Hop Party #3

Well I must say that I was a bit overwhelmed with
the turnout for last weeks Bunny Hop!
There were 48 participants for my 2nd. party!

I hope that you are all taking advantage
of what this party offers you.

It is a great way to make lasting
connections and friends.

Following someone's blog should mean that you enjoy
reading it and visit on a regular basis.

Please take some time to visit as many of the other blogs
as you can, and leave a comment.

You like to get comments, don't you?

I am hoping for a good turnout this week
but I am aware that it is a busy time of year
with last minute vacations and back to school plans.

Now go make some new friends!

Did you by chance notice that I have a new

Now if you haven't had a good therapeutic cry
in awhile then continue on...
Get your tissue ready!

I have included the poem
The Rainbow Bridge,
and I WILL REMEMBER YOU
sung by Sarah McLachlan.

The Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

R.I.P.

Louise was 15 yrs. old.

After this song you may click to hear
IN THE ARMS OF AN ANGEL.

Please let me know if this touched you.

XOXOXO

Potting Shed with Faux Brick Floor

Transformation Thursday Party...

.
Today I want to share my Potting Shed
with the "faux brick" painted floor.

This was not a "shed" but an addition that was added
to the side of the house by the former owners.
It didn't even have any electricity wired up.

It was a workshop/storage room with one window.
Then I moved in and staked my claim...
and we put in another window and power!

Potting shed with painted "faux brick" floor,

I have to apologize for this picture.
The Mr. must have taken it,
I didn't even "stage" it first!

It was taken before the digital camera era.
I dug it out of the "picture box" and scanned it.

Do you have a "picture box"...
or a bunch of boxes like me?

Here are two more pictures of that yard.

Our Northern California Backyard.

Our Hot Tub Gazebo

I will post more after I dig through the
gazillions of pictures in the unsorted boxes.

I have always been a gardener.
In fact while living in Northern California
I had become a Master Gardener for my county.

I should scan that MG certificate...
and tell you I was 2nd in my class,
but I am not prone to bragging... :o)

 Our Texas Pond

I never got a MG certificate in Texas.
However, I did get the yard certified
as a Wildlife Habitat.

Certified Wildlife Habitat Plaque

Mourning Dove on Bench... look hard.

Praying Mantis in our Texas Yard

My newest garden is in the desert.
It has been too hot to do anything here so far.

Mountain View In The Desert

We have a small backyard with only
the builders landscaping so far.
see the little baby plants?

Small Desert Yard

But we like to think that we
have a huge backyard with
a wonderful view of the mountains.

We do have some pretty clouds.
